Solar Power Rebates
Different Types Of Solar Power Rebates
There are many different types of solar
power rebates available as the solar rebates will differ
depending on what country you live and in the US which state
you live in. Renewable energy is quickly becoming popular as
the price of gas is high and environment issues are becoming
for of a concern. Almost every government in developed
countries provides some sort of solar power rebate for using a
solar powered system in your home.
For those living in the United States
the federal government automatically gives you a tax rebate for
installing a solar power system to your home. The rebate just
got even better as of 2009 as there is now no limit to the
rebate, it is 30% of the cost and installation fees. Previously
there was a cap of $2, 000 for the rebate. This new unlimited
rebate is available until 2016.

Each state in the US also offers their
own solar power rebates and you can get both the federal rebate
and your states renewable energy rebate. The state of Arizona
offers solar power rebates through their power companies. Most
of the rebates come in the form of tax exemptions though they
also can come in the form of loans.
One of the best solar power rebate
programs can be found in California as the California Solar
Initiative is a model for other states developing solar
programs. California has separated their rebate program into
two sections, one for buildings and homes that already have a
solar system and one for homes that are installing a new solar
system. The main goal of the program is to produce 300
megawatts of solar power by the year 2017.
Another state with excellent solar power
rebates is Colorado. On the whole you can receive up to $3 per
watt on renewable energy. You get $2 per watt when you install
the system and then $1. 50 for each watt you produce. Much of
the rebates come in the form of renewable energy certificates.
These excellent rebates are providing the incentive home owners
need to install solar systems as the cost of putting in a solar
system will pay for itself within the course of a year of
two.
In 2006 Florida began the Solar Energy
System Incentives Program. This program covers a range of solar
systems that include solar hot water heaters, solar systems and
pool solar heaters. In order to qualify for this program you
need to follow the guidelines that include the size of the
system and installation companies.
Massachusetts has an excellent if
slightly different solar rebate program. The Massachusetts
Technology Collaborative Renewable Energy Trust offers rebates
that are also based on your income and house value. All
together there is a rebate cap of $20, 000. You will receive a
base rate per kW and then you will receive additional rebates
depending on your income level and home value.
The best way to get the most out of your
solar power rebates is to have your solar system connected to
your electrical grid so that any excess energy is pumped back
to the electrical company. This way you will receive a federal
rebate. State rebate and credit form the power company. As long
as you live in a moderately sunny area you will get your
money's worth. If you should live in a remote area then you can
have your solar system connected to batteries that are
recharged when it is sunny and on cloudy days the batteries
provide power to your home.
